Mount Ida College

I was responsible for the development of the Mount Ida College website working with Sametz Blackstone Associates. This was a custom WordPress theme and uses the Bootstrap 2 responsive framework. The best challenge of this site was the depth of the navigation structure and the ability to allow the Mount Ida site administrators to manage a broad range of content easily.

I setup taxonomies and categories to easily cross reference programs, news, events and site sections. The home page features a randomly selected feature program determined through PHP which pulls in the corresponding student achievement and faculty news related to the program . If a site user selects another program the related program content is rendered through AJAX. The social media feeds for Instagram and Twitter utilize their respective REST API’s.

There are multiple templates Mount Ida site administrators can use for the content such pages with adlobs(advertising like objects), featured image carousels, and custom content, media, and event widgets.  The site features mobile and tablet responsive refinement and optimization. I wrote all of the PHP, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS . The site would not have not been possible without strategy  by Ange Romanska and design by Joerg Dressler.
